North American's P-51 Mustang is recognised as the best all-around fighter plane of World War II. The Mustang was capable of escorting bombers on long-range missions, engaging in dogfights, and dropping down to destroy German targets on the ground. Modeled after the 357th Fighter Squadron, this new Hangar 9 60cc Giant-Scale P-51D Mustang offers a true rendition to its historic predecessor. With it's true-to-scale outline, and impressive scale details, this warbird is a must for warbird lovers. Two sets of authentic decals allows for pilot customization; "Glamorous Glen III" as flown by American Captain Chuck Yeager and Captain Jim Browning "Gentleman Jim" adds authenticity and a true sense of realism.

Hangar 9's P-51D its constructed from high-grade balsa and plywood and comes with long list of scale details and optional accesssories that enhances the scale experience. All gear doors (inner, outer and tail), magnetic sliding canopy, full-depth cockpit and pylons for the optional drop tanks and wing bombs are included. Functional scale flaps and correct gear door sequence add a new level of realism. Retracts, 5" P-51 scale wheels, wing bombs, drop tanks and pilot are optional and available from Horizon Hobby. With our new Evolution 62cc Gas Engine w/ EFI will make it feel as though you're flying on rails.
